How To Select The Right Job Skills For Your Resume?
Process of selecting correct job skills
Begin with learning exactly what your goal is. This can be everything from your future job position to your dream company and working environment where you are at your productive best. Write it out in detail on a sheet of paper how you will be in that future job position.
Once you have filled in the details of how it will look like when you are living your goal, it is time to do some thorough research. Go through all the daily and regular tasks that a person in your future job position would do. The best way to do this is reading up on job descriptions for open positions given online. Check all the job databases and portals to make a list of things you will be doing regularly in your future position.
After you make a list of requirements and responsibilities mentioned frequently in the job descriptions, identify the job skills in 2 categories which you want highlighted in your resume. One category is where you possess the said skill already and another is for the job skills you want to improve or gain or brush up on. This will add the proverbial stars to your new and improved resume you will soon be sending out to the employers, hiring managers and executives.
Types of skills
Out of the skills you have listed out in the process above, put them categorically in 2 types of skills on your resume. These 2 categories are mentioned below so get to know them in detail before you start amending your resume to showcase your current skills.
